What is box breathing?
Box breathing (also called square breathing or 4-4-4-4 breathing) is a research-validated relaxation technique: breathe in for 4 seconds, hold for 4 seconds, breathe out for 4 seconds, hold empty for 4 seconds. It's used by healthcare professionals, athletes, and executives worldwide to reduce stress and improve focus.
How long is a session?
The default session is about 60 seconds (4 complete breathing cycles). You can customize the number of cycles and timing to fit your practice.
Is Orris free?
Yes. Every breathing pattern, every session length, streak tracking, and Apple Health sync are all free. There are no paywalls on the core experience. An optional Premium subscription adds analytics, calendar heat maps, and data export.
